The work programme of the thematic programme Information Society Technologies (IST) under the Fifth Framework Programme (FP5) for Research, Technological development and Demonstration (RTD) is available in five European Community languages (English, French, German, Italian and Spanish). To implement the IST Programme, this work programme has been developed in close consultation with the potential funding partners and participants in the RTD actions. It is based on inputs received from many different quarters, including the Advisory Group, the Programme committee, workshops, seminars and a targeted call for action lines within the industrial and research community, which resulted in over 500 ideas and concrete suggestions.
