Observatory for Research Infrastructures New services from the EuroRIs-Net+ http://observatory.euroris-net.eu The European Network of National Contact Points for FP7 Research Infrastructures programme (EuroRIs-Net+) provides new and extended services to the RI scientific communities, industry and public stakeholders at the European and international level. The services provided to our clients (see them on the project web site http://www.euroris-net.eu/) have been recently updated as follows: - The RI Observatory, an interactive information infrastructure, facilitates access to integrated and updated RI-related information, from national and European sources, and boosts the dialogue between various RIs stakeholders. The knowledge that has been gathered and organized under the Observatory now covers policy issues, recommendations, reports, studies, surveys, articles, National/Regional Roadmaps, Thematic Roadmaps, Research Indicators, RIs projects fact sheets, presentations, information on stakeholders/organisations involved in the RIs, funding schemes, opportunities on transnational access to Research Infrastructures, etc. Registered users can create a personal profile, download information at a personalized “MyObservatory” page and access the Stakeholders Forum. The Observatory is constantly being updated and now includes information about Projects (277 entries), Persons (547 entries), Organisations (1700 entries) and Documents (154 entries). - The Stakeholder Forum (http://www.euroris-net.eu/stakeholders-forum) allows online discussions between members and has been upgraded with the following functionalities: Ability for external users to register/apply for membership to the stakeholder forum and initiate /participate in discussion on RIs Ability for Stakeholder Forum members to upload documents to the RI Observatory. - The Transnational Access Opportunities gives information about RI projects offering transnational access opportunities (Infrastructures Integrated Initiatives -I3), e-infrastructures, other projects, e.g. ESFRI projects). Data is revised and updated regularly, aiming to offer the most up-to-date information on the opportunities offered through the existing infrastructures of pan-European interest.The last updates concern the calls for proposals recently open under I3 projects. EuroRIs-Net+ conducts the following four surveys on Research Infrastructures topics under the title "Observing the National RI Landscape: surveys on national, regional, thematic initiatives/roadmaps & data initiatives": - Landscape of national roadmaps and national initiatives on RIs; - Survey on available Thematic roadmaps for RIs; - Data initiatives at national and regional level (in coordination with EUDAT); - Bringing up new case studies for regional initiatives on RIs’ development. The first results from the surveys are expected by June 2013. The above information was reported on the Plenary Assembly Meeting of EuroRIs-Net+ /Vienna, December 3-4, 2012/ held together with the workshop: “RIs in the new European Landscape”, organised by the Turkish National Contact Point (TUBITAK) and hosted by the Austrian National Contact Point (FFG). The workshop provided an excellent opportunity for representatives of RI-based ERA-NETs and RI policy bodies, such as ESFRI, e-IRG and e-IPF, to enhance the dialogue and create a platform for an open discussion on Research Infrastructures variable geometry and implementation patterns. The emphasis was placed on: Developing recommendations on how to improve access, participation and knowledge exchange among RI stakeholders; Identifying the points of common interest and mutual benefit and addressing actions to be taken in order to intensify the dialogue between RI Stakeholders; Providing a platform for stakeholders to exchange information, experiences and to discuss future collaboration; Introducing the Observatory& Stakeholders’ Forum for Research Infrastructures, established under EuroRis-Net+.
