In a reflexive move, SOCRATES, the European Commission's action programme in the field of education, has announced an invitation to tender for evaluation studies on the impact of the SOCRATES programme itself.

To this end, the evaluation studies will be divided into four lots:

- External evaluation of the participation in the SOCRATES programme of persons with special educational needs;
- The impact of Erasmus in the specific fields:
- - Sublot II.1 law;
- - Sublot II.2 engineering;
- Comenius action 1 and Lingua action;
- Teacher training.

In a second part to the call, the Commission is inviting tenders for an external evaluation of the SOCRATES programme, to assess the impacts and results of the programme and its actions.
