Onwards and upwards – REMOURBAN holds periodic meeting in Madrid while capitalising on positive project review
It comes at an exciting time for project since our consortium is poised to launch the integration of the REMOURBAN’s Urban Regeneration Model. Our project has also just been positively reviewed by the EC. In the words of the reviewing officer “Results so far indicate that a solid foundation has been put in place on which a solid lighthouse can be built, with strong potential to be a leading light for Smart Cities”. This is something we can all be proud of, and something we should endeavour to pursue. In addition, the framework of cooperation and knowledge transfer - especially involving fellow Lighthouse projects, CityKeys, Expresso, SCIS and the EIP SCC Marketplace - has been now set out and we’ll be working to consolidate it over the months ahead. The 3-day agenda was therefore packed with both a review of the outcomes of recent months and a look ahead to deepening the project’s actions. This included workshops on Lighthouse cities knowledge sharing and on the replication plan for our two follower cities Miskolc and Seraing. Much of day two was taken up by the project’s second exploitation workshop delivered by Steinbeis. The aim was to flesh out exploitable results and launch a market analysis based on them. In this way, the consortium will be able to get to grips with intellectual property management and to set out roadmaps for exploitation. The third day walked delegates through the ins and outs of the future Urban Generation Model during a workshop delivered by the partners directly involved in developing this. Finally at the fifth workshop, the spotlight was shone on clustering activities with other Lighthouse projects. This session not only provided an overview of the current actions but also examined the benefits of cross-cutting communications, replication and exploitation, with emphasis on how to ensure ongoing collaboration and deal with ownership conflicts.
