Advance notice of an invitation to tender concerning the appraisal of the EU's programme on health monitoring has been published by the European Commission, DG V. This appraisal of the Community action programme on health monitoring within the framework for action in the field of public health will cover:

- Participation in the development of the methodological framework for appraisal;
- Participation in conducting appraisals of projects and the actions undertaken by them;
- Contribution to the drafting of the intermediate and final reports provided for in Article 7 of the Decision on the programme.

The invitation to tender is expected to be published in the Official Journal during July 1999.
