Advance notice given for IRC and RITTS revamp
During the course of 1999, the European Commission's DG XIII intends to launch a call for tenders for technical services relating to the Innovation Relay Centres (IRC) network and to the Regional Innovation and Technology Transfer Strategies (RITTS) network, in the following areas: - Expertise in innovation, technology transfer and exploitation of research; - Investigation of mechanisms for the exchange of knowledge and good practices between the IRCs and RITTS projects; - Development and implementation of standards, methodologies, communication policies and operational principles of the IRCs and RITTS projects; - Development of network activities to standardise operational procedures and management tools; - Creation of instruments to promote the services of the IRCs and RITTS networks; - Analysis in the field of telecommunications, database management and information application to link the IRCs and RITTS project participants throughout the Community; - Strategic contribution to improving and further developing the IRCs and RITTS projects. According to information from the Commission, around 4 million euro is likely to be spent on these services over the course of two years.
