Video: “Climate change: everything you need to know about the IPCC 5th Assessment Report"

The video “Climate change: everything you need to know about the IPCC 5th Assessment Report” addresses these and other questions giving voice to the italian experts

The publication of the Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) is one of the most important events in the international debate on climate change in recent years. The Summary for Policymakers of the first part of the Report (the Working Group I contribution), concerning the physical science basis of climate change, has been released on September 27th, 2013. The AR5 provides more accurate information and reduces uncertainty compared to the previous report, as a result of the larger amount of data available and of the advances in climate sciences. Now we know with greater certainty that changes in CO2 concentrations and temperature are synchronous, and we are close to the scientific certainty of the anthropogenic responsibility for climate change. What can we expect from the future, globally and locally, in the short term and in the long term? What are the new understandings from frontier research? The video “Climate change: everything you need to know about the IPCC 5th Assessment Report” addresses these and other questions giving voice to the italian experts: • C. Carraro, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, ICCG, FEEM, CMCC, Vice-Chair of the WG III and Member of the Bureau of the IPCC • C. Barbante, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice • P. Ruti, ENEA, Contributing Author IPCC WG I • A. Navarra, INGV, CMCC Watch the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEBinGtIyUU&feature=youtu.be(opens in new window)
