Final evaluation of the INFO2000 programme
As the INFO2000 programme draws to a close at the end of 1999, the European Commission wants to know how useful it has been. It has therefore announced a call for tenders for a final evaluation of this multi-annual programme, which was designed to stimulate the development of a European multimedia content industry and to encourage the use of multimedia content in the emerging Information Society. The evaluation should appraise the impact (relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, utility and sustainability) of the INFO2000 programme. This should be supported by both qualitative and quantitative evidence and include the perceptions of the main stakeholders and the 'intervention logic' of the programme. Only tenders from companies with in-depth, up-to-date knowledge of and expertise in leading-edge evaluation techniques and with substantial experience of the ex-post evaluation of expenditure programmes will be considered.
