EC funding opportunities for small-to-medium sized enterprises: The SME Instrument

Two days training taking participants from groundwork to developing winning proposals to fund research and Innovation projects in Horizon 2020 and other programmes.

This unique training course is aimed at enabling organisations to better understand and take advantage of the various European funding opportunities suitable for SMEs. The course is designed to equip participants with the necessary skills and know-how to produce high quality and successful SME Instrument proposals. The course covers the various types of funding streams available to SMEs and helps participants to identify the most suitable options for their companies. The course focuses on the main funding streams in the Horizon 2020 Programme such as Marie Sklodowska Curie Actions; Industrial Leadership; SME Instrument; EUREKA Eurostars; Societal Challenges and Fast Track to Innovation. Other non H2020 programmes (Erasmus+ -Traineeships; Knowledge Alliances Sector Skills Alliances) will also be considered. The course focuses on a significant funding opportunity, the SME Instrument Programme. It also addresses the key issues central to a well-presented SME Instrument Phase 1 proposal. The course encourages an interactive approach and uses a mixture of lecture style-delivery, workshop activities and structured discussion. There is also ample opportunity for question and answer sessions. Extensive use will be made of case studies from RedKnight’s experiences globally to make the training as practical as possible. As a result of completing this course, participants will be better equipped to produce a winning proposal by: 1. Appreciating the range of EC funding options available to small companies and identifying those most suitable; 2. Understanding the key elements of a well-constructed SME Instrument (SMEi) proposal; 3. Considering the approaches needed to deliver a proposal in a timely manner; 4. Understanding the evaluation processes used for SMEi proposals; 5. Learning best-practice from experts in the field of proposal development; 6.
