NMP-DeLa is a significant initiative and the only project approved for the Latin American region under the FP7 NMP ‘Cooperation’ call, which means the Presidency of the European Commission has a special interest in the project and will ensure close collaboration with the International Cooperation Unit of the Commission.

NMP-DeLA’s importance is largely down to its activities, which focus on strengthening local research capacities, as a means to achieve the goal of deploying advanced and new material technologies in the sectors of major social challenge in Latin America: Energy, Water and Health. A programme of free expert workshops, summer schools and live webinars will create valuable skilling-up, networking and interfacing opportunities.
