In December last year, the European Commission published a call for applications from researchers who want to be included on its list of 'external experts'. The names included on this list are called upon to evaluate research proposals submitted following calls for proposals to the specific programmes of the Fifth RTD Framework Programme (OJ No C 385A of 11.12.1998 p. 9). A second call was published in May for experts to monitor the Fifth Framework Programme and its specific programmes, in monitoring exercises carried out each year (OJ No C 120A of 1.5.1999 p. 3).

Anyone interested in applying for a place on these lists may now submit their application to the Commission electronically via CORDIS at the following address:
