Job strategies in the Information Society
A high level group established to work with the Commission on employment possibilities in the Information Society met recently to discuss a draft progress report on Europe's Information Society. The group has widened its focus from job opportunities to job strategies, building on successful strategies proposed by Member States, and dealing with specific challenges for learning and working in the information society. The report is being prepared by the Employment Directorate-General in cooperation with the DGs for Enterprise, the Information Society, and Education and Culture, and will propose recommendations to Member States and social partners for which the group expresses general support. Members added comments on specific best practices at national level.
