Commission wants to help NGOs protect the environment
In order to assist non-governmental organisations (NGOs) active in the field of environmental protection, the European Commission is calling for proposals for funding from NGOs active in the EU Member States and bordering regions. The EU contribution would go towards the costs inherent in carrying out the activities provided for in their annual work programmes. Financial assistance, subject to the availability of funds, may be provided for activities which are of Community interest, contribute significantly to the further development and implementation of Community environmental policy and legislation, and meet the principles underlying the Fifth Environmental Action Programme.
