The Commission of the European Communities publishes a call for tenders (restricted procedure) for temporary technical assistance in a number of domains under the responsibility of DG XIII. Twenty-eight expert positions are foreseen. The call is addressed to companies and organisations able to place qualified experts from their own personell at the disposal of the Commission.

Positions are foreseen in the following fields:

Directorate A (Information Technology):
- A1, A2, A3: Experts in semiconductor technologies, microprocessors and microsystems.
- A4, A5, A6: Experts in software engineering.
- A7: Experts in high-performance computing.
- A8: Experts in advanced information systems and peripherals.
- A9: Expert in computer integrated manufacturing.

Directorate B (Telecommunications research):
- B1: Expert in information security.
- B2: Expert in broadcasting and service quality.
- B3: Expert in communication network security.
- B4: Expert in legal and economic aspects of information security.
- B7, B8: Experts in digital image communications.
- B9: Specialist in optical networks.

Directorate C ( Telematics networks and service).
- C1: Standardization in integrated systems digital networks.
- C2: Standardization of Mobile radio systems.
- C3: Expert in certification, inspection and quality assurance.
- C4, C5: Experts in the field of rehabilitation technology in the framework of the TIDE programme (Technology for the Integration of the Disabled and Elderly).
- C6: Experts in air traffic control.

Telecommunications Policy:
- F1: Regulatory and legal aspects of telecommunications regulation.
- F2: Regulatory aspects of mobile communications and frequencies.
- F3, F4: Regulatory aspects of mobile communications and frequencies.

The place of work shall be the Commission's premises in Brussels> Declarations and tenders may be submitted for one or more of these positions. Contracts are proposed for an initial period of one year (220 days).
