E-commerce site launches new sections
The European Union's electronic commerce website has launched two new sections, a mobile Internet page and a new technologies section for people interested in new technologies and applications. The website is part of the Information Society Webring, a collection of related websites dedicated to supporting electronic commerce, set up by ISPO, the Information Society Project Office. The mobile Internet page provides information on Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) with links to the WAP Forum and other WAP pages. WAP is the de facto worldwide standard for providing Internet communications and advanced telephony services on wireless terminals. The technologies page comprises links to hot topics such as CALS and Concurrent Enterprising, industrial aspects, language engineering, mobile internet, security aspects, smart cards, technology in general and transaction management.
