The European Commission's Information Society Directorate-General is calling for tenders to carry out an evaluation of the status of the TEN-Telecom guidelines. The European Parliament and the Council have established a set of guidelines identifying the objectives, priorities, broad categories of measures and a number of projects of common interest concerning the development of trans-European telecommunications networks (TEN-Telecom). This decision states that the TEN-Telecom guidelines must be revised every three years. The evaluation should assess the needs of industry and Member States for the development of TEN-Telecom, identify the telecommunications market sectors where a TEN-Telecom intervention can bring more added value, and assess the modalities of intervention for TEN-Telecom. The results of this evaluation will then be used to make recommendations to the Commission.
