The Commission of the European Communities publishes a call for proposals in the context of the TIDE technology initiative concerning collaborative development work on the application of information and communication technologies. Proposals are invited in four Areas described in the TIDE 1993/1994 workplan, namely: - Access to communications and information technologies and support for intra-personal communications; - Control technologies; - Restoration/enhancement of function; - Integrated systems technologies. In order to address the topics mentioned above, technological tasks will in general involve shared-cost research and technological development (RTD) projects based on the rules outlined in the information package supplied to interested parties. A Proposers' Day is planned for 1 June 1993 (to take place in Brussels) with the dual aim of helping organizations to seek partners, and also aiding those with little prior experience to familiarize themselves with the work and methods of Community RTD programmes. Copies of the call, the information package, the TIDE workplan, and other useful information may be obtained on request from: Commission of the European Communities DG XIII/C Attn. E.
