Ecological assessment and control of the quality of river water
An International Conference on River Quality, Ecological Assessment and Control, took place in Brussels on 16-18 December 1991. The Conference was organised by the Commission of the European Communities, Directorate General XI (Environment, Nuclear Safety and Civil Protection) together with the National Rivers Authority for England and Wales, the Water Research Centre of the United Kingdom and the Italian European Institute for Water. Over 30 papers were delivered. These have now been reproduced in a single volume covering objectives and approaches to river water quality management, biological techniques for assessing water quality, and control of discharges.
