The Institute for Reference Materials and Measurements at the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) is calling for tenders for the rendering of a number of machines used in its central workshop compliant with the Directives on work equipment. A list of these machines is given in the official call text in the Official Journal of the European Communities at the reference below. In general, the compliance of the machines described mainly involves the installation of an emergency stop system and emergency stop relay, a master switch, a braking device or minimum coil relay. It is also generally necessary to devise a system to prevent any components from becoming detached and/or elements from becoming unstable, says the JRC. A site visit will be organised to provide tenderers with a view of all the works to be carried out.
