The IT-Scand project, an action research project designed to build cooperation between SMEs (small and medium sized enterprises) in the peripheral areas of northern Scotland and Scandinavia, has reported the results of a best practice study it carried out last year. The study aimed to look at how best practice can be achieved in transnational projects involving SMEs. The results of this study are available at: URL: http://www.scotnordic.com/northernperiphery(opens in new window) Funded by the EU's Northern Peripheries programme with matching funding from participating countries, the programme aims to highlight the possible beneficial application of new technologies in the regions concerned. The proposals for transnational cooperation are developed by project groups led by SMEs and three proposals are presently being developed.
