The Government of Cyprus is scheduled to announce a call for tenders in April 2000 for technical assistance in the framework of the project 'Technical assistance and administrative cooperation-Transport-Highway management system'. This contract is likely to be financed by the European Community. The project will aim to develop and implement a basis for a comprehensive computerised management system. This will involve: - A study of the existing situation regarding the road network; - Establishment of the scope of the system to be developed; - Preparation of the requirements; - Develop, install and test the system; - Advise the government regarding EU regulations; - Training of GIS (Global information system) users.
