Interprise, the European Commission's multiannual programme for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) is calling for proposals to organise Interprise events in a number of Central and Eastern European Countries (CEECs) in 2001. Organisations in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia, which are interested in submitting a project proposal for an Interprise event are invited to submit proposals to the European Commission. Only one Interprise event can be selected for each of these countries. One of the programme's objectives is to help SMEs give their business strategies a European and international dimension in order to encourage partnership between industries and services in Europe. Under the Interprise programme, heads of businesses (SMEs) are offered a series of pre-arranged face to face meetings with their counterparts from other countries. These meetings are aimed to conclude cooperation agreements across borders to stimulate the trans-national business activities of SMEs. Applications must be prepared in accordance with particular rules set out in the official call text, which is published in the Official Journal of the European Communities at the reference below.
