The European Commission is calling for proposals for research in three areas of social affairs. Proposals which will generate up to date data, analyses and methodologies on social quality, demographic trends and the knowledge society have been requested. The aim of this work is to highlight emerging trends and the adjustments required in Europe. Specific attention will have to be given to certain categories of groups (including women, children and senior citizens) in the work proposed. Grants will only be given to transnational approaches which make a clear contribution to the knowledge within the European Union on these issues. The maximum budget made available under this call will be 1 million euro and funding will not exceed 60% of the measure's estimated budget. The grants will be awarded in two lots - the first on 30 June, the second on 13 October, though applications will need to have been submitted by 30 May and 22 September respectively.
