Standardisation work related to characterisation of waste
A call for tenders for active participation in CEN (Comité Européen de Normalisation') working groups involved with standardisation work in the field of characterisation of waste will soon be published. The contractor will be required to ensure that the standards for waste characterisation will be compliant with the Commission's mandate, with the objectives of Directive 99/31/EC on the landfill of waste and the overall waste management policy of the Environment Directorate-General. In particular, these standards should ensure a high level of environmental protection is ensured through their application.
