Environmentally aware and sustainable consumption
The Commission of the European Communities, Consumer Policy Service, makes a call for tenders to undertake studies related to product assessment in the area of consumption and the environment. The studies will assist in the carrying out of a Commission programme of activities in support of environmentally aware and sustainable consumption. The programme aims to help facilitate an awareness among consumers, by way of information and other practical actions, of how certain consumption practices might be adjusted so as to make them less damaging to the environment while at the same time ensuring that basic consumer rights are adequately protected. The study (or studies) concerns the identification of products particularly damaging to the environment, products for which alternative production consumption or disposal practices which are less environmentally damaging might be developed, and a number of other related subjects detailed in the call.
