Getting the MOST out of events
The MOST (Media Oriented Systems-Transfer) Cooperation, which works towards a multimedia design and interconnective approach to transport, has made two major steps to open up its technology to the public. Firstly it has posted the information for specifications of MOST technology on its Internet server. These specifications have been thoroughly checked and are designed to offer full interconnectivity for audio, video and data services though fibre optics. The objective is to make it easier for automotive designers and component suppliers to design and supply parts and cars that can more easily communicate with each other. Over 60 automotive firms have worked on the specification now available. In another bid to get its message across, MOST is hosting an interconnectivity conference in Tokyo, Japan in the middle of June (date not yet released). MOST will be homing in on the Japanese automotive market with this event. It hopes that this will provide the basis for building up more cooperation with the Japanese car market.
