Evaluation of disease eradication programmes and reference laboratories for arbitration
The Health and Consumer Protection Directorate-General will shortly issue an invitation to tender for the evaluation of disease eradication programmes and reference laboratories for arbitration. The tender will be divided into two parts: Lot one will comprise a mid-term evaluation of disease-eradication programmes receiving funds from the Commission. It will assess their results and outcomes and whether the objective to eliminate the diseases is being achieved. Lot two will consist of a mid-term evaluation of national laboratories receiving funds from the Commission. It will assess the results and the arbitration function of reference laboratories in case of differences of opinions between Member States. The estimated budget will be 250,000 euro for each lot, and tender proceedings should begin by November 2000.
