The Research DG has issued an invitation to tender for a study of how the Directorate-General actually functions, which should focus in particular on the functioning of the different thematic groups and directorates. The study shall describe and analyse the practices employed to implement activities for each separate directorate, looking especially at the interaction between directorates and the units at their heart so that the functioning of the directorate-general is optimised on the basis of best certified practices. The study will also provide facts to enable an evaluation to be made of the relationships between the structures for coordination and those for implementation. More detailed information is available in the tender documents.
