Fire report available
The final report from the first strategic workshop on fire safety for the European citizen is now available. The self-tuition workshop was held on 26 and 27 April 1999 in Chester, UK. It was organised in collaboration with FEU, the European Association of fire fighters and covered several issues, including: - identification of all common data relating to fires and disasters in the EU; - how fire safety issues relate to employment, commerce, the environment, transport and consumer protection; - understanding the social and financial costs of fire on EU citizens. Ultimately, the initiative aims to set up an action plan to reduce the risk of fire.
