Recruitment of scientific staff at the Commission
The European Commission will soon organise selection procedures to draw up reserve lists for the recruitment of highly qualified scientific staff for research activities in the Joint Research Centre Institutes: These are located in: Ispra, Italy (Institute for health and consumer protection, environment Institute, Institute for systems, informatics and safety, space applications Institute); Karlsruhe, Germany (Institute for transuranium elements), Geel, Belgium (Institute for reference materials and measurements); Petten, the Netherlands (Institute for advanced materials) and Seville, Spain (Institute for prospective technological studies). The official text of the selection notices will be published during July 2000 on the Research Directorate-General's website and on CORDIS. Interested parties should wait for the official announcement before expressing their interest in inclusion on the list. A list of the positions to be advertised is available from the Research DG's website at the address below. In addition to this, the Directorate-General responsible for implementing the EU's research and technological development policy are inviting tenders for contracts not exceeding a total of three years for the management of projects and contracts under the Fifth RTD Framework programme. Successful applicants will be entered in a database and may be used to fill any highly specialised vacancies which arise in these Directorates-General between 1999 and 2002.
