MAST II biological research projects
The Commission of the European Communities calls for expressions of interest for participation in biological research projects under the specific research and technological development programme in the field of marine science and technology (MAST II, 1991-1994). The general goal of the call is to strengthen and broaden biological research in the Mediterranean. Particular emphasis will be put on good linkage and complementarity to the Mediterranean Targeted Project (1993-1996) implemented by the Commission. All topics in field research on biological processes will be considered; expressions of interest on benthic research and pelagibenthic coupling are particularly encouraged. The purpose of the call is to request interested parties to express their wish to participate at an early stage with a view to: (1) assessing the degree of interest in the topics outlined above; (2) defining the details of the projects in the light of the priorities thus established; (3) assessing the means required; (4) creating contacts between potential participants wishing to set up transnational groups.
