The fourth round of calls for proposal under the User-friendly Information Society (IST) programme, part of the EU's Fifth RTD Framework Programme, is now open.

The total available budget for this round is 450 million euro of Community contribution, and the call relates to proposals both with a fixed deadline and under the continuous submission scheme.

Potential proposers are invited to address the following parts of the IST 2000 Work Programme:

- Proposals to be submitted by 31 October 2000 for RTD, demonstration and combined RTD/demonstration projects:
