New project information on CORDIS
New information on the 'administrations' action line of the IST programme's Key Action for systems and services for the citizen (KA1) has been added to the CORDIS homepage. This action line is geared to multimedia systems and services addressing the specific needs of all types of administrations, specifically those which support the widening and deepening of the EU and those which offer interactive services in remote and rural areas. The new information covers the vision of the 'administrations' action line and it's guiding principles. The main objective is: 'to realise by 2010 the goal of ''European Integrated Government'' enabling administrations, citizens, businesses, suppliers and other public sector bodies to seamlessly come together and interact in real time through a ubiquitous infrastructure that promotes trust and confidence,' according to the Information Society Directorate-General. Guidance on the main objectives, as outlined in the Council Decision of 25 January 1999, is provided with links to the decision itself, as well as a summary of the main priorities for research.
