Study on resource management and waste prevention
A study on resource management and waste prevention is to be the subject of an invitation to tender, issued by the Environment Directorate-General in the context of the European Community Waste Management Policy. The Commission is awarding a contract for the following: - an inventory and description of existing measures adopted in the Member States in the field of resource management; - an inventory and description of existing literature on this subject; - identification of a number of industrial processes and products which have a significant negative impact on the environment as a consequence of the use of resources and the generation of waste; -selection of a number of industrial sectors or processes where programmes of resource management and waste minimisation could be successfully applied; - proposals for improving the preservation and protection of resources and minimise the waste generated in the selected processes and products.
