Economics of IP networks
The Commission has published a call for tenders for a study on the economics of IP (Internet protocol) networks - market, technical and policy issues related to Internet backbone services. The study should aim to examine the risks of market distortions that could influence the competitive development for the Internet. The study should also provide a rigorous analytical framework within which to consider and evaluate the competitive developments within the Internet. It must provide not only good analytical insights into the operation of the Internet backbone but also support the analysis with appropriate and well-supported empirical data.
