Innovation in environmental regulation
A new book focusing on 'innovation-led environmental regulation' theories is available. The book, of the same title, is partly the outcome of a conference organised by the European Commission's Institute for prospective technological studies (IPTS) in May 1999. The book aims to give policy makers an innovative way of approaching environmental regulation-related issues armed with innovative methods that could both provide a good balance between economical and ecological concerns and save money. The book provides a number of examples which are taken from research on the subject. Edited by two members of the IPTS network and a member of the centre for European economic research in Germany, the book nonetheless provides insights into both European and US experiences in the field.
