Call for proposals Growth
The Commission has invited proposals for indirect RTD actions under the specific programme for research, technological development and demonstration on competitive and sustainable growth, which is one of the Fifth Framework programmes. This call for proposals opens up the following areas of the work programme: Generic activities, measurements and testing - methodologies to support standardisation and Community policies - measurements and testing anti-fraud methodologies - support to the development of Certified Reference Materials (CRMs) Support for research infrastructures - support activities to medium and large-scale facilities - setting-up of virtual institutes - reference databases - measurement and quality management infrastructures This call for proposals is restricted to the following RTD topics: 1) Measurement and testing (indicative budget of 11 million euro): - Methodologies to support standardisation and Community policies: subjects related to the standardisation activities of CEN, Cenelec and ISO. - Measurements and testing anti-fraud methodologies: protecting European economic interests and the health and safety of European citizens. - Support to the development of Certified Reference Materials (CRMs): Technical support for health and safety protection 2) Needs in support of research infrastructures (indicative budget of 14 million euro): - Support activities to medium and large-scale facilites: - Setting-up of virtual institutes - Reference databases - Measurement and quality management infrastructures For each of the above subjects a supporting document has been produced, detailing the objectives to be met. This should be requested together with the guide for proposers before attempting to develop a proposal. Proposals for topics other than those listed above will not be accepted. When submitting a dedicated call proposal for an RTD project, proposers may include an application for a bursary for young researcher from developing countries.
