The European Commission's Personnel and Administration DG is inviting tenders for an environmental study of buildings occupied by the European Institutions in Brussels and Luxembourg. The study is being commissioned with a view to implementing the eco-management and audit scheme 'EMAS'. The impact-evaluation method proposed is to come under the guidelines for the ISO 14000 and EMAS standards and will result in a list of suggestions for concrete actions. This list shall provide the institutions with the necessary insight into making environment-friendly decisions on building policy and management. The number of buildings to be assessed will vary in accordance with budgetary funds. The aim is to evaluate approximately 2,000,000 m² of building complexes, but the number of buildings to be assessed will vary in accordance with each institution's budgetary funds.
