Vienna postdoctoral fellowships
IST Austria, outside Vienna, is a young research institute, founded in 2009. The Institute specialises in fundamental research and graduate education, combining natural and mathematical sciences in an interdisciplinary way. Backed by EU funding, the project 'International IST postdoctoral fellowship programme' (ISTFELLOW)(opens in new window) aims to provide attractive postdoctoral research fellowships at IST Austria. The purpose is to facilitate innovative research. The project runs between mid-2012 and mid-2017 and is expected to fund 40 positions. The Institute offers an English-language environment, combined with excellent working conditions. Fellowships are open to any qualified applicants, but priority is given to candidates wishing to independently conduct theoretical or experimental research in IST Austria's research themes. These include cell biology, evolutionary biology, neuroscience, physics, mathematics, and computer science. Overall, the result of ISTFELLOW will be facilitation of competitive postdoctoral fellowships in the areas of IST Austria's multidisciplinary research.
