The two programmes covered are: The specific research and development programme in the field of the environment, STEP (Science and Technology for Environmental Protection), 1989-1992; and the specific research and technological development programme in the field of raw materials and recycling: Recycling of waste, REWARD (Recycling of Waste Research and Development), 1990-1992. The 370-page catalogue lists a total of 149 projects in the two programmes, organized by research area, involving 804 scientific institutions in Community Member States and in EFTA countries. It provides, for each of the contracts concluded in the programmes, the objectives and a brief description of the project, details of the scientific coordinator and the responsible EC scientific officer plus a list of the partners and institutions involved. Project dates and the financial contribution of the Commission are also included. An index has been provided to improve the accessibility of this information.
