The European Commission has published an invitation to tender which aims to secure the services, skills and experience necessary to give a sense of homogeneity (a common look and feel) to a Commission web site for the research programme 'Information Society Technologies' (ISTweb). The contributions provided by the contractor must raise the standards of presentation of ISTweb, its accessibility and ease of use, and the consistent application of a house style agreed and adopted by the chief editors. Ultimately, the aim is that the public's perception of the IST Programme should be consistent with the high quality of work being performed by its projects, and the continual efforts being made to integrate and focus research efforts on the related policy objectives of the European Union. An increased awareness of 'what IST is', the quality and impact of its research results, and the ready identification of this with the Community's Research Framework will do much to convince the general public, businesses, academia and policy makers that their investment in the programme has been justified. The duration of the contract will be 24 months. For further information, please contact: The European Commission Directorate-General Information Society Directorate F for the attention of Mr N Heenan BU29 6/77, 200 Rue de la Loi B-1049 Brussels Belgium Tel. +32-2-2963453 Fax. + 32-2-2950654
