Following the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the republic of Slovenia and the European Community on reciprocity, Slovenia has announced a call for co-financing of basic and applied research projects, 2001. The call is for projects in the following areas: - natural sciences and mathematics - engineering sciences - medical sciences - biotechnology - social sciences - humanistic sciences - natural and cultural heritage of Slovenia and Slovenes. 'The research programmes and activities of Slovenia, corresponding to those of the Fifth Framework programme of research and technological development activities of the EU, are open for the research entities from the EU, provided that these research entities cover the cost of their own research activities within the project,' says the call text. The Slovene ministry of education, science and sport is administering the call and all applications should be made to the address given below.
