European solar test installation wins extended accreditation
The European solar test installation (ESTI) has won accreditation for another three years, according to the Joint Research Centre's Environment Institute. This follows an audit by the Comité Français d'Accreditation (COFRAC) at the Environment Institute's renewable energies unit in March. A quality auditor from COFRAC examined the Institute's organisation while another examined the more technical side of module testing, device calibration, instrument maintenance and traceability. 'The outcome was highly positive,' reports the Environment Institute, adding that the extension to ESTI's accreditation should allow the installation to maintain and expand its position as a laboratory for renewable energy technologies. ESTI assists the manufacturing and consumer industries to assess the performance and reliability of photovoltatic systems.
