Indicators for European digital content on the global 'network'
The Information Society Directorate-General is a calling for tenders for a study on 'indicators for European digital content on the global networks. The eEurope 2002 action plan contains a specific action line devoted to 'European digital content for global networks' as part of the overall objective to stimulate use of the Internet. This action line aims to support European content industries in fully exploiting the opportunities created by the advent of digital technologies. In this context the objective of this study is to benchmark availability and usage of European digital content in the Member States, Norway, Iceland and the United States in order to identify and characterise the most visited and most popular content and, through doing so, identify relevant success factors.
