EU and GCC countries move towards a joint technology information centre
At the eleventh Joint Council between the countries parties to the Charter of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) and the EU on 23 April, leaders called for an early implementation of an EU-GCC technology information centre. The call followed a decision by the GCC to agree to the funding arrangement suggested by the European Commission. The Council brought together delegates from Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait along with Lena Hjelm-Wallén, Deputy Prime Minister of Sweden and Pascal Lamy, European Commissioner for Trade,
