The three flights making up the 30th European Space Agency (ESA) parabolic flight campaign, which will conduct more experiments than any previous campaign, are expected to be launched from Bordeaux-Mérignac airport, France on 15, 16 and 17 May. The flights, by the special Airbus A300 Zero-g will see14 experiments carried out, including eight in physical sciences, three in life sciences and three proposed by students from Germany, Italy and Spain. The experiments will be conducted in the near absence of gravity, and are aimed at preparing future experiments for the International Space Station. ESA runs two parabolic campaigns per year, and scientists are regularly invited to submit experiment proposals for review and selection by peers.
