A summary of the proceedings of a conference on the potential impact of Europe's e-economy on EU enterprises and policies is now available on-line. The conference, held in Brussels in March, aimed to help develop an understanding of the changes brought by digital technologies in the economy and of their implications for policy-making. Among the participants were high-level industrialists, entrepreneurs, consumer representatives and academics, as well as Commissioners and Commission staff. A first series of workshops analysed the impact of digital technologies on different industry and service sectors, with a focus on new structures and business models. A second series of workshops concentrated on the implications for policy-making, focusing on the internal market.
