Study to assess viability of EU/US common aviation area
The European Commission's Energy and Transport DG has issued a call for tenders for a study assessing the potential of a transatlantic common aviation area incorporating the European Union and the United States. The study will involve analysis of the state of transatlantic air transport relations between the European Union and the United States and provision of specific data, analysis and information on issues likely to prove controversial in the context of a negotiation. The consultant should undertake a detailed investigation of the economic effects (both in the United States and in Europe) for consumers, air carriers, employees, communities and other stakeholders, of replacing the present bilateral/regulatory system with a liberalised transatlantic common aviation area.
