European Parliament stresses environmentally friendly projects for KONVER
During its sitting of 12-16 July, a discussion on the Community's KONVER programme (initiative to help areas facing defence cuts), called for an overall plan for defence restructuring with priority for environmentally friendly projects. The KONVER programme, with a budget of ECU 130 million, is to run on an ad hoc basis this year and on the basis of programmes submitted by the Member States before the end of August. The Resolution supporting this programme was adopted with some amendments.
