Malta granted full access to FP5
An agreement giving Malta full access to the Fifth Framework programme (FP5) before accession was signed by Research Commissioner Philippe Busquin and Ambassador and Permanent Delegate of Malta to the EU Victor Camilleri on 20 June. The scientific and technological association agreement will allow Maltese researchers to participate fully in the Community's research programmes in partnership with EU researchers. Research has become the first Community policy area open to candidate countries to which they contribute financially, and 16 non EU countries are currently participating in the Fifth Framework programme.
